An agreement on cooperation between the People's Assembly of the Republic of Dagestan and the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies was signed at the XIII Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia.

– In total, on the sidelines of the forum, the Regional Council of Deputies is signing two agreements with the legislative bodies of the Republic of Dagestan and the Donetsk People's Republic. Of course, their signing is of a framework nature, establishes general directions and confirms our principle of strengthening further relations in the fields of economy, culture, youth policy, and tourism potential development. This agreement opens the way for business representatives, who will be provided with any support from our partners, – noted the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies, Dmitry Demidov.

During the work of section No. 2, the Chairman of the People's Assembly of the Republic of Dagestan, Zaur Askerov, announced Dagestan's readiness to increase supplies of agricultural products, seafood, etc. to Belarus.

– We are interested in the products of Belarusian agricultural producers, as well as in investments in the construction of greenhouses and fruit storage facilities. A separate prospect is logistics routes. The Makhachkala Sea Trade Port is a key link in the North-South corridor. Belarusian exporters have already appreciated the advantages of this route, and we are ready to expand these opportunities. Direct air service between Minsk and Makhachkala has opened up new possibilities. For guests from Belarus, author's tourist routes around Dagestan are being developed, and the participation of Belarusian artisans in our forums "Guardians of Traditions" and "Open Dagestan" brings our regions even closer, – noted Zaur Askerov. – The cooperation between the Republic of Dagestan and the Republic of Belarus is supported by concrete actions. By combining our capabilities, we make a significant contribution to the security, independence, and prosperity of the Union State.

Agreements on establishing friendly relations were also signed between the administrations of the Zheleznodorozhny district of Vitebsk and the city of Alushta, and between the municipal formation of the city district of Kerch and the Orsha district.

– Of course, we are confident and interested in long-term relationships and see their prospects, – commented the head of the administration of the Zheleznodorozhny district of Vitebsk, Alexander Sysoev. – We count on the full development of economic, cultural, and social ties between our districts and enterprises. I am sure that in the future we will further strengthen our interaction, and the document signed today will facilitate closer contact. At the previous Forum of Regions of Russia and Belarus, which took place in Nizhny Novgorod, the Zheleznodorozhny district of Vitebsk signed a cooperation agreement with the Avtozavodsky district of Nizhny Novgorod. And today we see the results, as the document simplifies our interaction and allows us to develop economic and social relations more rapidly.

A cooperation agreement was signed by the Glubokoye District Executive Committee and the administration of the Ostrovsky District of the Pskov Region. A plan of measures for the implementation of the Agreement on establishing sister-city relations was signed between the Senno District Executive Committee and the administration of the Peschanokopsky District of the Rostov Region.

– As emphasized by the Chairman of the Senno District Executive Committee, Alexander Klyachin, the Senno District is agrarian, therefore, the focus of cooperation with the Peschanokopsky District will be on this area. Industrial, social, cultural and other spheres will not be overlooked. According to him, the parties have something to share and learn from each other, for example, in production. Cultural interaction between the regions has already been established.

– For the development of the district, interregional communication is extremely important, therefore, the significance of such forums cannot be overestimated. These are acquired acquaintances, experience that we share and adopt – from small forms of improvement to global production and proposals for businesses to create something of their own together. The portfolio of documents planned for signing at the forum by the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the Council of Deputies and districts includes about ten items.

The results of the work of section No. 2 were summarized by the moderators: Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Council of the Republic for Regional Policy and Local Self-Government Natalya Yakubitskaya and Chairman of the Federation Council Committee for Federal Structure, Regional Policy, Local Self-Government and Northern Affairs Andrey Shevchenko.
