On the initiative of the International Organization for Migration Representation in the Republic of Belarus, a seminar on improving the quality of social services for victims of human trafficking was held in Vitebsk
Representatives of the regional prosecutor's office, the Internal Affairs Directorate, the Investigative Committee Directorate of the Executive Committee, the Vitebsk Red Cross Society, local executive and administrative bodies, education authorities, and public associations took part in the training event.
The seminar participants discussed the problem of human trafficking, gender inequality in various spheres of life and its impact on human life, criteria for identifying victims of gender and sexual violence, as well as the interaction of state and public associations in these areas.
According to the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, training events of this kind are useful for law enforcement agencies, as discussions help to fill gaps in law enforcement activities in the fight against human trafficking in the supervised territory.
Work in this direction will continue in the future.
