At the initiative of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, an interdepartmental meeting has been organized aimed at preventing individuals with diseases or conditions that hinder the operation of mechanical vehicles from participating in road traffic.

By the initiative of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, an interdepartmental meeting was organized with the participation of representatives of the Vitebsk Regional Health Department, the Department of Internal Affairs, the Department of State Automobile Inspectorate of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Vitebsk Region, and the State Healthcare Institution "Vitebsk Regional Clinical Center of Psychiatry and Narcology" on the issue of compliance by internal affairs bodies of the region and healthcare bodies with legislation aimed at preventing persons with diseases or conditions that impede the operation of motor vehicles, in particular, those diagnosed with alcoholism, drug addiction, substance abuse, from participating in road traffic.

It was noted at the meeting that upon receiving information from healthcare institutions about individuals of the specified category, the State Automobile Inspectorate bodies do not always take appropriate measures to prevent them from participating in road traffic.

During the meeting, a practical mechanism for interaction between internal affairs bodies and healthcare bodies was developed for transferring information about persons with contraindications to driving vehicles and taking measures to prevent such persons from participating in road traffic, which is enshrined in the decision of the meeting.

Work in this direction will continue in the future.
