At the request of the Vitebsk Transport Prosecutor's Office, violations of legislation aimed at ensuring flight safety have been eliminated

As part of its oversight activities, the Vitebsk Transport Prosecutor's Office inspected the compliance with legislation on ensuring the safety of air transport in the region.

For reference: Vitebsk "Vostochny" International Airport provides airlines with a full range of airport services, including servicing aircraft of the Boeing-500, 800 types. Passenger transportation is carried out to Antalya, Turkey, Egypt, and other business-class charter flights. In the first half of 2020, 100 tons of cargo arrived by air transport were processed.

According to Aviation Regulations, a list of critical obstacles must be determined for each aerodrome, and measures must be taken for their possible elimination.

Critical obstacles in the form of forest and garden areas, shrubs, and isolated trees must be eliminated within the timeframes established by the aerodrome operator's development plan.

Land users whose plots are located within the aerodrome territory and on which the height of plantings exceeds the limits established by law are obliged, upon the demand of the airport (aerodrome) owner or their authorized representative, to eliminate the violations within the established period.

Critical obstacles were identified on the aerodrome territory of Vitebsk Airport on land plots used by peasant farms in the Vitebsk region.

The Vitebsk Transport Prosecutor issued a directive to the head of the farm, demanding that appropriate measures be taken to clear woody and shrubby vegetation on the aerodrome territory of Vitebsk Airport, on the land plots under their use.

The requirements of the directive have been fully met, and the critical obstacles have been removed.

Work in this area will continue.
