The speeches of the heads of structural divisions of the regional apparatus noted that in the current year, 8235 crimes were registered in the region, which is 108 less than in the same period last year. The crime rate per 10,000 population was 69.0, which is lower than the republican indicator (74.8).
An increase in crime occurred in 6 regions - in the city of Vitebsk, Braslavsky, Lioznensky, Postavsky, Ushachsky, and Shumilinsky districts.
The number of murders with attempted murders increased (from 44 to 46), hooliganism - (from 125 to 186), fraud - (from 67 to 130).
The number of crimes committed in public places, by a group of persons, among youth has increased, in connection with which prosecutors should demand more active actions from prevention entities to prevent offenses.
At the meeting, it was noted that the prosecutor's offices of the region conducted 1020 general supervision inspections in 9 months of 2016, as a result of which 1145 submissions were made, 1097 orders were issued, and 592 protests were filed. The number of persons warned about the inadmissibility of violating the law has increased.
At the request of prosecutors, 3,394 people were brought to disciplinary and administrative responsibility, 896 individuals and 297 legal entities were brought to material responsibility. 16 criminal cases were initiated.
Despite the active supervision of legislation enforcement, prosecutors of Lioznensky, Tolochinsky, Gorodok districts and the city of Novopolotsk need to intensify their efforts in this area of work.
The problem of people dying from external factors remains relevant in the region, to which prosecutors should pay special attention during supervisory activities.
In the current year, 312 road traffic accidents were committed, in which 64 people died and 336 were injured. At the same time, 36 accidents were committed by drivers in a state of alcoholic intoxication.

In the region, 510 fires occurred, in which 49 people died and 29 were injured. The fire destroyed 106 buildings, 106 tons of fodder, 32 units of equipment. Total economic losses amounted to 58725 million rubles. As a result of industrial accidents, 19 people died, 70 received serious injuries.
Overall, the discussion of these issues showed that the problems of ensuring public safety and discipline are relevant and require the adoption of additional management decisions.
During the meeting, an algorithm of actions for the prosecutor's office for the near future was developed, and specific instructions were given to the heads of structural divisions of the regional prosecutor's office, city and district prosecutors on the ground, aimed at increasing the effectiveness of prosecutorial activities.
