The results of work with appeals have been summarized
One of the most important areas of prosecutorial activity is work with appeals from citizens and legal entities.
In the past year, the prosecutor's offices of the region received 9.8 thousand appeals, of which more than 6 thousand were directly resolved by prosecutors. 27.5% of the appeals were found to be justified.
Also, prosecutors received 6.8 thousand people in person. The practice of conducting receptions at the place of residence and work of citizens, as well as arrested persons and persons serving sentences, was widely practiced.
The largest number of appeals were considered in the prosecutor's office of the region, the prosecutor's offices of Vitebsk, Novopolotsk, Orsha, Polotsk, Vitebsk, Chashniksky, Gorodok, Tolochin districts.
In general, citizens and representatives of legal entities appealed against decisions made by inquiry and investigation bodies on applications and reports of crimes, court decisions on criminal and civil cases, actions and decisions of bodies conducting administrative proceedings.
At the same time, the reasons for justified complaints about the actions and decisions of investigators and interrogators continue to be the incompleteness of inspections conducted on applications and reports of crimes, and the lack of objectivity in the investigation.
Infringements of procedural norms and superficial study of the circumstances of offenses often served as grounds for prosecutors to protest decisions in cases of administrative offenses.
Appeals regarding violations by employers of employees' labor rights, and appeals against the actions of state bodies and organizations, also remain relevant.
Complaints about the inaction of relevant interested departments in protecting the rights of minors, including from their negligent parents, are of particular concern.
In order to restore the violated rights of applicants and protect their legitimate interests, in 2017, based on the results of considering 1.4 thousand appeals, prosecutorial response measures were taken.
For example, thanks to the intervention of the regional prosecutor's office, housing rights were protected
minors. Thus, at the suit of the regional prosecutor's office, the court declared invalid the transaction of gifting by the mother of the children a well-appointed three-room apartment in Vitebsk and applied the consequences of the invalidity of this transaction.Deputy
