Visit to Correctional Institution No. 12

Officials of the Department of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office for Supervision of Compliance with Legislation by Criminal Enforcement and Compulsory Enforcement Bodies conducted a reception for convicts held at the correctional colony of the UDIN of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus for the Vitebsk Region, located in Orsha.

During the reception, individuals approached the prosecutors with various questions (regarding disagreement with court decisions on criminal cases, inquiry bodies on crime reports, application of amnesty acts).

Each applicant received appropriate clarification, taking into account the provisions of the legislation, including the procedure for further consideration of specific situations.

After the reception, prosecutor's office officials checked compliance with legislative requirements at the correctional facility, including the implementation of established sanitary, hygienic, and anti-epidemic rules, studied the living and working conditions of the convicts, and discussed with the colony's management current issues related to the serving of sentences by convicts, the realization of their rights and legitimate interests, as well as the fulfillment of their duties.
