Visit to correctional facilities

Employees of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office for Supervision of Compliance with Legislation by Criminal Enforcement and Enforcement Bodies conducted receptions of convicts held in correctional colonies of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus for the Vitebsk Region, located in Orsha, Vitebsk and Gluboksky districts.

During the reception, individuals approached prosecutors with various questions, including disagreements with court decisions on criminal cases, inquiries from law enforcement agencies regarding crime reports, and the application of amnesty acts.

Each applicant received appropriate clarification in accordance with the provisions of the legislation.

Following the reception, prosecutors inspected correctional institutions for compliance with legislative requirements, including the implementation of established sanitary and epidemiological rules, examined the living and working conditions of convicts, and discussed with the colony administration current issues related to the serving of sentences by convicts, the realization of their rights and legitimate interests, as well as the fulfillment of their duties.
