Visit to correctional facilities

Employees of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office for Supervision of Compliance with Legislation by Criminal Executive and Enforcement Bodies conducted receptions of convicts held in correctional colonies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus for the Vitebsk Region, located in Orsha and Gluboksky districts.

During the reception, individuals approached prosecutors with various questions, including disagreements with court decisions in civil and criminal cases, inquiries from law enforcement agencies regarding crime reports, and the application of amnesty acts.

Each applicant received appropriate clarification, taking into account the provisions of the legislation, including the procedure for further consideration of specific situations.

Following the reception, prosecutor's office employees checked compliance with legislative requirements in correctional institutions, including the implementation of established sanitary, hygienic, and anti-epidemic rules. They studied the living and working conditions of convicts, and discussed with the colony administration current issues related to the serving of sentences by convicts, the realization of their rights and legitimate interests, as well as the fulfillment of their duties.
