Congratulation of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor on the 95th anniversary of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Belarus

Accept our sincere congratulations on our professional holiday – the 95th anniversary of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Belarus.

By virtue of its constitutional status in the state power mechanism, the Prosecutor's Office is a reliable guarantor of the rights and freedoms of citizens, a defender of legality in all spheres of life of Belarusian society.

The formation and development of the prosecutor's system is inextricably linked with the history of our state. Over this period, more than one generation of prosecutors has changed, who, through their selfless work, have ensured the highest authority of the Prosecutor's Office as a guarantor of legality and the observance of citizens' rights.

From archival materials, we know that in the early years of the Prosecutor's Office, it was necessary to wage a real struggle against banditry, embezzlement, and assaults on people's lives and health. At the same time, measures were taken to protect the labor rights of citizens, prevent offenses among numerous homeless children, and ensure legality in court decisions.

A bright and tragic page in the history of the Prosecutor's Office was the participation of many of our employees in the defense of the Motherland during the Great Patriotic War. True courage and heroism in the fight against the invaders were shown by prosecutors of the Vitebsk region I.U. Sushchinsky, I.D. Baranovsky, F.A. Konyshev, P.T. Murashko, N.I. Sherstnev, V.E. Mararinova, T.A. Borodina, E.T. Khotko, G.T. Shkredo, A.O. Limberg, A.N. Kondakov, I.R. Shipulya, P.M. Zahoroshko, and many others. It was thanks to the resilience and courage of the older generation that it was possible to defend the independence of our Fatherland and achieve victory over the enemy.

In the post-war years, prosecutors ensured the observance of legality and law and order in the process of restoring the country's economy, and expanding the democratic principles of the functioning of state authorities and public associations.

Today, the Prosecutor's Office is a crucial component of the state apparatus of the Republic of Belarus. Its development is inextricably linked with the objective processes occurring in society. New approaches to solving social and economic problems, innovative

technologies require a more dynamic legal policy. Therefore, the institution of the prosecutor's office is constantly improving, while preserving the key principles of its activities, reflected in the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus.

Fulfilling the requirements of the President and the Prosecutor General, prosecutors are actively fighting corruption and economic crime, taking energetic measures to protect the economic interests of the state, and ensuring the implementation of the most important constitutional principle of equality of all before the law.

We understand that ensuring legality and law and order is a complex and multifaceted problem that can only be successfully solved by the joint efforts of all state bodies and social structures. In this regard, prosecutors constantly maintain close contacts with all branches of government, law enforcement and supervisory agencies, work collectives, focusing on preventing offenses and improving the legal culture of the population.

The universality of the prosecutor's powers requires our employees to have internal organization and self-discipline, continuous professional development, and the search for new, non-standard approaches to solving socio-legal problems. This often causes certain difficulties, takes time away from family, but this is our profession, which involves increased responsibility for every legal decision, and a desire to help people in trouble.

A distinctive feature of our employees is a thoughtful approach to solving the tasks set, a careful attitude to the fate of every person who finds themselves in a difficult life situation. We value the dedication of prosecutors to their chosen profession and understand that in our turbulent times, people, true professionals who honestly perform their civic and official duty, remain the most valuable asset of the prosecutor's office.

The most important link in the prosecutor's system are district, city, and transport prosecutor's offices, whose employees solve specific tasks of prosecutorial activity every day with great strain. Today, many young people work in the field.

promising prosecutors with a high level of legal culture, demonstrating principledness and persistence in upholding the principles of the rule of law, the spirit and letter of the law. I am confident that you will continue to honorably fulfill your duties, achieving real strengthening of legality and public safety.

I would like to express special gratitude to the veterans of the prosecutor's office for their difficult and dedicated work, their constant readiness to help young employees in mastering the complex prosecutor's craft. Many veterans regularly participate in our events and make a significant contribution to the patriotic education of youth. The leadership of the regional prosecutor's office, for its part, also tries not to neglect veterans, providing assistance within its capabilities.

Dear colleagues! We have chosen a profession that, in addition to considerable rights, places a heavy burden of enormous responsibility to society on our shoulders. I believe that each of us, realizing the extent of this responsibility, will do everything necessary to protect the legal system of the Belarusian state, the constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens. Let us not forget that largely thanks to our activity, principledness, competence, and constructive interaction with other state institutions, a high level of stability and law and order is maintained in Belarusian society today. Thank you all for your conscientious attitude towards the performance of your official duties.

Happy holiday, dear friends! I wish all prosecutor's office employees, our dear veterans, strong health, happiness, well-being, and inexhaustible energy for the benefit of our native Belarus!
