Chumanihina", teachers and students of the educational institution, and representatives of the media.

Anton Volkov, Head of the Department of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office for Supervision of the Enforcement of Legislation on Minors and Youth, informed those present that the regional prosecutor's office regularly holds events in educational institutions of the Vitebsk region to highlight the results of the investigation into the criminal case of genocide.

"It is important that our children realize the full scale of the tragedy of the Belarusian people who suffered from genocide during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Issues are being covered regarding the identification during the investigation of the criminal case of previously unknown mass burial sites of civilians, villages and settlements completely or partially destroyed, and the essence of the inhuman "policy" of the invaders and occupiers to destroy the Belarusian people in this war is being conveyed. Prosecutors are involved in the creation of thematic expositions on the genocide of the Belarusian people in educational institutions," noted Anton Volkov.

"We cannot allow the history of our people's tragedy to be 'rewritten'," emphasized the representative of the supervisory authority.

Then, students conducted a tour of the school museum "Memory" and spoke about the heroes of the war and the history of their region during the Great Patriotic War.

For reference. The "Memory" museum was opened in 1987. The museum has six halls covering all stages of the war.

Also at the educational institution

A scientific society "Poisk" (Search) was established, where teenagers study the history of their native region. Currently, students, together with the head of the society, have begun collecting materials on the genocide of civilians, as well as specifically on those villages that were subjected to punitive expeditions in the winter of 1942-1943 and were in the immediate vicinity.

At the end of the event, representatives of the prosecutor's office, teachers, and students communicated with the media.
