Prevention of injuries on railway transport facilities.
Railway tracks are a zone of increased danger; adherence to the rules for crossing them can save lives and health.
Over 9 months of 2024, the Vitebsk branch of Belarusian Railway registered 5 cases of citizen injury (6 in the same period of 2023), of which 3 were fatal (4). Out of the total number, 3 individuals were under the influence of alcohol (3). During the analyzed period, the Orsha junction saw an increase in the number of accidents involving citizens from 1 to 4, with 1 person fatally injured (1), and in 1 case, the individual was under the influence of alcohol (1).
For instance, on 21.07.2024, at Bogushevskaya station, a man was crossing the tracks on the railway crossing surface and did not react to the audible signals. Emergency braking was applied, but due to the short distance and the person's lack of reaction, a fatal collision occurred.
It is necessary to remember that crossing railway tracks is permitted only in designated and equipped areas. When crossing at railway pedestrian crossings, it is prohibited to use mobile phones, headphones, tablets, video players, audio players, roller skates, scooters, or bicycles; these items must be pushed alongside you.
Observe the rules of safe behavior on the railway yourself and remind your loved ones about them.
