The problem of deaths and injuries of people on railway transport remains relevant

A forty-five-year-old resident of Orsha district, D., was in a hurry somewhere in January and, despite the approaching train at a speed of 110 km/h, began to cross the railway tracks near the "Solnechny" passenger stop, located on the Moscow - Brest railway line. The result was the woman's death. Saving a minute can cost you your life.

According to statistics, more than half of the injured "friends of the railway" were intoxicated. For example, in March, a train of regional lines Lepel - Orsha fatally injured a resident of Senno district, an unemployed S., born in 1963, who was lying on the railway track. During a forensic medical examination of the corpse's blood, ethyl alcohol was found in a concentration that in living persons can cause severe alcohol poisoning.

In July, on the Khlusovo - Khlyustino section in Orsha district, a pensioner K., who was walking along the tracks and suddenly started to cross them, was killed by a railcar of the power supply department (a train for repair and maintenance work and transportation of personnel at railway stations). He did not react to the warning sound signals of the locomotive, both loud and quiet. And how could he pay attention to them if he was in a state of severe alcoholic intoxication. The driver's use of emergency braking systems also did not help. It should be remembered that an immediate stop of a train is impossible.

The railway track is not a place for walks. Walking on or along the tracks closer than two meters from the outer rail is strictly prohibited, and before a high-speed train passes, one should not approach the track closer than five meters.

Unfortunately, there was a case of injury on the railway in the transport region involving a minor. In August, a seventh-grader from one of the schools in Vitebsk, P., was injured on the railway siding of OJSC "Vitebskdrev", resulting in a traumatic amputation of the middle third of his right lower leg. The teenager grabbed the handrail of a wagon moving at low speed over a crossing in order to ride.

Оршанским ОВДТ в этом году за нарушение правил, обеспечивающих безопасность движения на железнодорожном транспорте, проход по железнодорожным путям в неустановленном месте к административной ответственности уже привлечено более 130-ти граждан, за нарушение лицом, управляющим транспортным средством, правил проезда железнодорожного переезда около 40 водителей.

Причины, повлекшие несчастные случаи на железной дороге, которая является источником повышенной опасности, самые разные, а вот подход к их предотвращению один: соблюдение элементарных правил безопасности.
