The regional prosecutor's office took part in the regional conference "Professional Training of Judges and Prosecutors: The Council of Europe Approach"

The Prosecutor of Vitebsk region Dysko G.I. and Senior Prosecutor of the Human Resources and Ideological Work Department Lisovskaya T.N. participated in the regional conference "Professional Training of Judges and Prosecutors: A Council of Europe Approach" in Minsk on April 28-29, 2016. The conference was organized by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Belarus in cooperation with the Directorate General of Human Rights and the Rule of Law of the Council of Europe.

The conference was attended by the Director General of the Directorate General of Human Rights and the Rule of Law of the Council of Europe Philippe Boillat, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus Konyuk A.V., Chairman of the Supreme Court Sukalo V.O., Chairman of the Constitutional Court Miklashevich P.P., Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus Mitskevich V.V., Chairman of the Investigative Committee Noskevich I.D., representatives of the Prosecutor General's Offices of Georgia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Council of Europe, legal scholars, and representatives of regional prosecutor's offices.

 

During the conference, new approaches to the professional training of judges and prosecutors, the role of specialized training in combating violent extremism and radicalization, and issues concerning the assessment and admissibility of evidence in criminal proceedings were discussed. Participants also exchanged experiences in the field of professional training programs for lawyers.

The event held will contribute to the further strengthening of business ties between scientific and practical employees in the legal field with the aim of improving the professional training of judges and prosecutors.
