The Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office organized a series of training seminars on studying changes in criminal and criminal procedure legislation

The starting point of the seminar series was the city of Vitebsk. A joint seminar was held at the premises of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus for the Vitebsk region.

The training event was attended by prosecutors and investigators from the regional departments, as well as from the city of Vitebsk, Gorodok, Liozno, Beshenkovichi, Shumilino, Vitebsk districts, and the Vitebsk transport prosecutor's office.

The purpose of the seminar is to prevent errors in the law enforcement activities of the prosecutor's and investigative bodies.

During the training event, prosecutors and investigators thoroughly studied the novelties in the criminal law sphere, discussed problematic issues of applying the law in qualifying crimes, investigating criminal cases, maintaining state prosecution in court, and implementing other supervisory functions of the prosecutor's office.

Special attention was paid to the practical application of the Law of the Republic of Belarus of July 19, 2019 No. 230-Z "On Amnesty in connection with the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders", and the legal aspects of releasing persons who have committed crimes from punishment were discussed in detail.

Taking into account the zonal principle, similar training seminars were held in three major regions of the Vitebsk region: Orsha, Polotsk, and Glubokoe, which allowed the specifics of applying changes in legislation in practice to be communicated to employees of all regions of the Vitebsk region.

At the end of each seminar, a legal quiz was held, the winners of which were Senior Investigator of the Department of Procedural Control of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus for the Vitebsk region S.S. Kononova, Deputy Prosecutor of the Senno district E.A. Azarushkina, Senior Assistant Prosecutor of the Lepel district E.V. Banevskaya, and Assistant Prosecutor of the Dokshitsy district A.S. Bizunov.
