Prosecutor of the Vitebsk region Vadim Sushchinsky took part in the opening ceremony of the paratroopers monument

Prosecutor of Vitebsk region Vadim Sushchinsky took part in the opening ceremony of a paratrooper monument and a memorial sign in honor of paratroopers in Vitebsk.

The sculptural composition, created by Ivan Kazak, features a three-meter bronze figure of a paratrooper gathering parachute straps after a jump. In front of the sculpture is a parachute with the emblem of the airborne forces in the center and the motto "Nobody but us." To the right of the emblem is a bas-relief of the Commander of the Airborne Forces of the USSR, Army General Vasily Margelov, and to the left, a native of Vitebsk, Lieutenant General Ivan Lisov. In front of the parachute, on a stone, lies a striped undershirt and a blue beret, created by Ivan Lisov.

Public and veteran organizations raised funds for the sculptural composition.

The ceremony was also attended by the Commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, Major General Vadim Denisenko, representatives of local executive and administrative bodies, veteran organizations, servicemen of the 103rd Separate Guards Airborne Brigade, and heads of the security sector of the Vitebsk region.

The Prosecutor of Vitebsk region, along with the heads of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus for Vitebsk region and the Department of Internal Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, laid flowers at the memorial and honored the memory of the paratroopers.

The opening of the sculptural composition confirmed that Vitebsk is the capital of Belarusian paratroopers.
