Prosecutors of the Vitebsk region held the «STOP-corruption!» campaign

In order to create an atmosphere of intolerance towards corruption and to increase the legal literacy of the region's population, the "STOP-corruption!" campaign was held in March-April of the current year through media appearances, in work collectives, and participation in open events (seminars, round tables).

On March 22, 2018, employees of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime, based at the Vitebsk Customs, held an open event in the form of a "round table" with employees of the Vitebsk branch of RUE "Beltamozhservice". Employees of the regional customs clearance departments "Polotsk", "Orsha", "Braslav" also participated via video conferencing.

During the event, prosecutors also answered questions arising from the branch employees in their practical activities regarding the application of certain norms and provisions of anti-corruption legislation.

On March 16, 2018, Deputy Head of Department Morozov I.O. met with students of the educational institution "Vitebsk State Medical College" as part of the ongoing campaign, drawing the young people's attention to various manifestations of corruption in modern society and its dangers.

Within the framework of the "STOP-corruption!" campaign, prosecutors focused their speeches not only on explaining the requirements of anti-corruption legislation but also on the legal consequences of committing offenses that create conditions for corruption and corruption offenses.

During the campaign, in order to prevent corruption crimes, regional prosecutors actively participated in events to fulfill the Head of State's instruction to ensure legality during the 2018 sowing campaign by speaking in work collectives and participating in seminars.

The attention of officials of enterprises and organizations in the regions was primarily drawn to the need to focus main efforts on preventing, detecting, and compensating for economic damage caused by corrupt officials, and ensuring legality in the implementation of state

purchases, eradication of mediation in their implementation, transparency and efficiency of spending budget funds in the implementation of state programs and investment projects.

In total, during the "STOP-corruption!" campaign, district prosecutors, Vitebsk transport prosecutors, and employees of the department for combating corruption and organized crime made over 180 presentations with reports and lectures in work collectives and at meetings of local authorities.

Also, as part of the campaign, prosecutors actively participated in "open events" (for example, together with representatives of the Vitebsk Regional Trade Union Association), namely: in 16 seminars, 7 "round tables" with speeches and reports on anti-corruption topics.

The preventive work carried out within the framework of the "STOP-corruption!" campaign was simultaneously covered by prosecutors in the media. In total, based on the results of the campaign, the prosecutor's offices made over 60 media appearances, including 38 on the Internet, 21 in print media, 4 on the radio, and 1 on television.
