Prosecutor's office employees of the region took part in the preventive campaign "Never Again"

A preventive event "Never Again" was held at the building of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

The target audience consisted of citizens not held in custody, convicted of violating traffic rules and driving a vehicle while intoxicated, who were additionally sentenced to deprivation of the right to engage in activities related to driving vehicles.

To participate in the event, employees of the prosecutor's office of the Vitebsk region for supervision over the observance of legislation by the penal system and enforcement bodies, traffic police inspector of the Department of Administrative and Public Security of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee V. Chepik, and head of the narcology department of the healthcare institution "Vitebsk Regional Clinical Center for Mental Health and Narcology" I. Shchelkunova were invited.

A thematic film was shown to the attendees, narrating the socially harmful consequences of committing punishable offenses, especially while intoxicated.

A prosecutor from the regional prosecutor's office reminded the convicted individuals of the need to comply with the order and conditions of serving their sentences, of the responsibility in case of evasion from serving them, and of the relevant sanctions provided for by Articles 415, 416, and 417 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, and also provided examples from judicial practice in criminal cases involving similar situations.

In addition, the attention of those present was focused on the need to comply with traffic rules and the procedure for obtaining a driver's license.

In turn, I. Shchelkunova informed the attendees about the negative impact of alcohol on the physiological state of the body and the procedure for undergoing compulsory treatment for chronic alcoholism in accordance with Article 107 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.

At the end of the event, the convicted individuals were given a tour of the temporary detention facility of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
