Prosecutor's office employees of Vitebsk region took an active part in the international scientific-practical conference
"Traditions and Innovations in Law" - this was the broad yet interesting theme for this conference.
The conference was attended by S.P. Chigrinov, Judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor, G.A. Vasilevich, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor, Helmut Kury, Professor (Germany), V.M. Khomich, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor, as well as representatives of universities of Ukraine and other international higher education institutions.
One of the conference's focus areas was the topic "Legal and Criminological Aspects of the Protection and Defense of the Interests of Family and Minors."
The conference was attended by A.V. Volkov, Senior Assistant Prosecutor of the Vitebsk Region for Supervision of the Enforcement of Legislation on Minors and Youth, M.V. Lavdansky, Deputy Prosecutor of the Verkhnedvinsk District, A.V. Korytko, Assistant Prosecutor of the Polotsk District, T.P. Zubko, Assistant Prosecutor of the Postavy District, D.V. Ploskunov, Assistant Prosecutor of Vitebsk city, and E.V. Banevskaya, intern for the position of Assistant Prosecutor of the Lepel District.
Particularly interesting, as noted by A.V. Volkov, Senior Assistant Prosecutor of the region, was the coverage of the experience of juvenile justice functioning in Germany. There are institutions that would be desirable to see in Belarus – for example, a "youth criminal code," which in certain cases allows individuals up to 21 years of age to be held criminally liable under the more lenient rules for criminal liability of minors under 18 years of age.
Based on the results of the conference, the works of all its participants have been published by the university in a thematic three-volume collection, which also includes works by representatives of the prosecutor's offices of the Vitebsk region.
