Prosecutor's office employees from the Vitebsk region took part in an international conference on the prevention of crimes in the field of illicit drug trafficking

Vitebsk region prosecutors took part in an international scientific-practical conference on the prevention of crimes related to illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their precursors and analogues.

To discuss problems in this area, employees of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Belarus, regional prosecutor's offices, representatives of law enforcement agencies, the court, leading educational institutions, the Belarusian Orthodox Church, the Central Committee of the BRYM public association, as well as representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation were invited.

During the conference, issues of combating drug-related crime in the Republic of Belarus and Russia were considered, with a focus on identifying latent drug addiction. In addition, the role of the Investigative Committee and the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus in combating the illicit distribution of narcotic drugs was highlighted.

Issues of exercising prosecutorial supervision and the role of prosecutor's offices on the stated topic were discussed as a separate block.

The information obtained during the conference will contribute to the further improvement of the preventive work carried out by the supervisory authority in the sphere of drug addiction among the region's population.
