Prosecutors of the Vitebsk region took part in the republican seminar on issues of state prosecution
Representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Belarus, heads of regional and Minsk city prosecutor's offices, heads and employees of departments supervising the legality of court decisions in criminal cases, deputy prosecutors of cities and districts overseeing the specified area of supervisory activities, as well as representatives of the Supreme Court and the academic community took part in the seminar.
The purpose of the seminar was to improve the professional knowledge of prosecutors supporting state prosecution in court, to enhance supervision over the legality of court decisions in criminal cases, to discuss law enforcement issues in specific categories of criminal cases when supporting state prosecution, and to exchange experience on emerging controversial issues.
Opening the seminar, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Konyuk, emphasized that issues of state prosecution support and supervision over the legality of court decisions in criminal cases are currently relevant, as this is one of the most important areas in the exercise of prosecutorial supervision. He wished the seminar participants fruitful work and commended a number of prosecutors for their achievements.
The target audience and topics of the seminar were chosen based on the most pressing issues in the specified area of supervision and the changes occurring in the legislation of the criminal law sphere.
In addition to theoretical material, an intellectual legal game "Brain Ring" was held at the seminar among teams of prosecutors from the regions and the city of Minsk, as well as heads of city and district prosecutor's offices. According to the results of the competition, the team of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office took first place. Senior prosecutor of the department Dmitry Orekhva was recognized as the best player.
The seminar was conducted in a sufficiently interesting manner from the perspective of its multifaceted nature, the relevance of the issues discussed, and the opportunity to apply the acquired information in practice.
