Work, creativity, and collaboration
The Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Belarus has summed up the results of the XI creative competition for the best coverage of the activities of the prosecutor's bodies in the media. Delegations from the prosecutor's offices of the regions and the city of Minsk, as well as leading media outlets, have been invited to the award ceremony.
Anticipating the solemn opening ceremony of the event, the head of the information department, Anzhelika Kurchak, addressing those gathered in the hall, said: "Find time for work – this is the condition for success, find time for reflection – this is the source of creativity and inspiration, find time for cooperation – this is the component of happiness. Today, these three concepts have merged for you and me: work, creativity, and cooperation."
The floor for welcoming the participants of the ceremony and opening the solemn event is given to the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus, State Counselor of Justice of the 1st Class, Alexander Vladimirovich Konyuk.
The head of the supervisory department thanked the representatives of the journalistic community present for their cooperation and the prosecutors for their work in implementing the principle of publicity. At the same time, he emphasized the significance of a proper level of interaction between the media and the prosecutor's office and outlined the prospects for further fruitful cooperation.
- "It is necessary to be able to build relationships with journalists. For static people like prosecutors, static in the best sense of the word, and for people like journalists, if we find an opportunity for compromise or dialogue with them, it means that the prosecutor is in his place. You know that the Head of State constantly talks about this. I appeal to those officials who have general's shoulder straps, who have future general's colonel rank, that you cannot hide and close yourself off from them. It is the duty of a prosecutor to interact with the press; it is our official duty. I am absolutely sure of this. This is my credo," said the Prosecutor General.
- "When we summed up the results of this competition, we saw how important it is. It is important that thanks to you, the mass media, the level is increasing
of public trust in the prosecutor's office, you talk about what we do. After all, people should know what we do, so that the image of a prosecutor is not formed as something frightening and inaccessible.Today we will hold this unique event, although competitions have been held before, but at such a serious level we are holding it for the first time. I am interested in this and will gladly take part," Alexander Konyuk summarized.
After the welcoming speech, the Head of the supervisory authority honored the winners and laureates of the creative competition, to whom he presented the symbol of the competition and diplomas.
The symbol of the competition was approved only this year and is presented in the form of the Belarusian letter "i". As Anzhelika Kurczak explained: "The Belarusian letter "i" on a pedestal is the ideal shape of a sphere – the boundless space of legal and journalistic thought, on the sphere is a comma – a small punctuation mark that has a sacramental meaning."
It should be noted that many works were submitted to the competition by the staff of the prosecutor's offices and by author teams of media outlets. The media and prosecutor's offices of the Brest and Vitebsk regions best represented their regions and received high praise from the competition commission. The Vitebsk region was represented by 9 teams of prosecutor's staff and media outlets.
The creative work of the staff of the prosecutor's office of the Polotsk district of the Vitebsk region should be especially noted, which was performed at a highly professional level and had no analogues among other competition materials. The submitted work took an honorable second place. The responsible executor is the senior assistant prosecutor of the Polotsk district, Tatyana Shebeko.
The laureates of the XI creative competition were: the staff of the Orsha district prosecutor's office – work executor Diana Zhvіkova, the staff of the Vitebsk district prosecutor's office – executor Elizaveta Osipenko, the staff of the prosecutor's office of the city of Vitebsk – executor Evgenia Isachenko. Regional media also did not go unnoticed: the author team of the newspaper "Vitebskiye Vesti" (E. Bakevich, A. Kutynko, O. Bulavka, and others) and "Vitbichi" (Svetlana Shirokova).
We would like to draw attention to the fact that
along with the performance of their direct official duties, prosecutors T. Shebeko, E. Osipenko, D. Zhvikova, E. Isachenko, by exerting maximum effort and energy, collaborated with the press for a long time, prepared thematic materials for the media, and subsequently properly formalized and worthily presented their competition entries. Responsibility, diligence, reasonable initiative, a creative approach, and the desire to win are the qualities of our employees that allowed the teams of the prosecutor's offices of Vitebsk, Orsha, Polotsk districts, and the city of Vitebsk to achieve a positive result in the republican competition event.Senior Assistant Regional Prosecutor N.
