To work effectively and with high quality

The speeches by the Prosecutor of the region V.V. Sushchinsky, his deputies A.V. Sidorovich, G.A. Korenko, V.I. Guk noted that the past six months were full of organizational and practical measures related to strengthening legality and public safety.

Overall, much has been done to ensure law and order and fulfill the requirements of the Head of State on comprehensively strengthening legality, combating corruption and economic crime, and protecting the constitutional rights of citizens.

Increased attention was paid to the issues of crime prevention, more active participation in this work by labor and educational collectives, and public associations.

Measures were taken to improve the quality of state prosecution. The protection of the economic interests of the state was carried out effectively. Mass media were widely used to highlight the human rights role of the prosecutor's office.

Through the joint efforts of all state bodies, it was possible to maintain a stable operational situation.

In the first half of the year, the number of crimes in the region decreased by 3.8%, including by 5.9% in the criminal investigation department. At the same time, the number of murders (-34.8%), intentional grievous bodily harm (-5.9%), robberies (-7.7%), thefts (-13.8%), burglaries (-9.4%), and hooliganism (-9.6) decreased. Fewer crimes were registered as committed repeatedly, in public places, while intoxicated, by groups, or by minors.

At the same time, the nature of modern crime requires the continuation of active work by all state institutions on crime prevention, systematic analysis of the operational situation, and substantive resolution of social problems that negatively affect the state of law and order.

Especially since in a number of regions of the oblast, the operational situation remains complex, particularly in Gluboksky (+33.9%), Miorsky (+25.0%), Braslavsky (+11.3%),

Sennensky (+9.7%) districts.

In Oktyabrsky, Polotsky, Miorsky, Dubrovensky, Postavsky, Shumilinsky, Verkhnedvinsky, Lepelsky districts, the number of grave and especially grave crimes has increased, many of which are associated with drinking alcoholic beverages and illegal drug use.

At the same time, the active application of legal measures to prevent offenses, eradicate drunkenness, alcoholism, and drug addiction is not ensured everywhere.

A high proportion of recidivist crime persists in Beshenkovichsky, Gluboksky, Verkhnedvinsky, Polotsky, Chashniksky, Shumilinsky districts.

Issues related to the social adaptation of citizens released from places of deprivation of liberty, and the employment of persons with a criminal record, especially in Gorodok and Vitebsk districts, require constant attention.

A negative trend of an increase in theft (+66.7%) and vehicle theft (+6.9%) has emerged in the region.

The state of juvenile delinquency in Miorsky, Tolochinsky, Chashniksky districts is a cause for concern.

It is necessary to ensure constant and demanding supervision over the enforcement of legislation in the investigation of crimes, over the procedural activities of inquiry bodies, the enforcement of legislation on citizens' and legal entities' appeals, and the compliance of court decisions in civil cases with the law.

Based on the results of the discussion, an appropriate decision was made aimed at strengthening legality and law and order in all regions of the oblast, and improving the quality of prosecutorial activities.
