Employees of the Vitebsk region prosecutor's office and their family members visited the Pushkinskiye Gory museum-reserve
Trigorskoye is the estate of Praskovya Alexandrovna Osipova-Wulf, with whose family Pushkin developed the most friendly and trusting relationship during his exile in Mikhailovskoye. The Trigorskoye manor house is located on a hill above the Sorot River. The excursion through the house-museum is dedicated to the life of its inhabitants and their friendly relations with the poet. The manor house also houses a library that Pushkin often used (and where he often stayed overnight). The Trigorskoye Park is a monument of landscape gardening art of the 18th-19th centuries. Moving from the manor house deeper into the park, on the left, we will see a pond and a garden, and on the right – a picturesque corner, which has acquired the name "Onegin's Bench," a remarkable viewpoint offering a view of the Sorot River valley and the road leading to Mikhailovskoye.
Further, the path leads to the Banya, and nearby, the Trigorsky hill is separated by the riverbed of the Voronets River, which flowed here in the Middle Ages. The Trigorsky house is always filled with light and carefully preserves the aura of "love and friendship" that so attracted Pushkin here!
Svyatogorsky Dormition Monastery (Svyatogorsky Lavra) is located in the very center of the old part of the Pushkinskiye Gory settlement. In 1569, by the decree of Ivan the Terrible, a monastery was founded here. Since the 19th century, the Svyatogorsky Monastery has been inextricably linked with the name of A.S. Pushkin. During his exile in Mikhailovskoye (1824-1826), the poet frequently visited the Svyatogorsky Monastery – he attended the fairs held here on the ninth Friday after Easter, observed folk customs, used the monastery library, and was friends with the brethren and the abbot of the monastery, Archimandrite Jonah. In 1836, the poet buried his mother here and, according to legend, contributed 10 rubles in silver to the monastery treasury – for his own burial place…
Early in the morning of February 6, 1837, A.S. Pushkin was buried at the altar of the Dormition Cathedral. A wooden cross with the inscription "Pushkin" was placed on the grave. A monument to the grave of A.S. Pushkin was erected in 1841.
Here, mentally transporting yourself two centuries back, you can feel the atmosphere in which Pushkin worked, and try to comprehend the mystery of his genius…
