The situation in the sphere of combating human trafficking was considered

Deputy Prosecutor of Vitebsk region Vladimir Guk took part in the meeting of the multidisciplinary working group of Vitebsk region responsible for the identification, referral and reintegration of victims of trafficking in human beings, which took place in Vitebsk.

During the meeting, the current situation in the sphere of combating trafficking in human beings was considered, taking into account new challenges and achievements, the situation in the sphere of labor migration in Vitebsk region and the republic as a whole, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as issues of identification of victims of trafficking in human beings and their rehabilitation.

The participants of the meeting also touched upon the issues of protecting minors who are victims of sexual crimes, where the main issue was the timely detection of these crimes and assistance to the victims.

It should be noted that such events under the auspices of the International Organization for Migration are held in Vitebsk regularly. Representatives of various public associations, institutions and organizations also take part in them, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the bar and judicial communities, executive authorities, as well as the Vitebsk regional organization of the Belarusian Red Cross Society.
