Close attention to the consideration of appeals! Appeals from citizens and legal entities received by the Vitebsk Transport Prosecutor's Office in 2023 have been analyzed.

In 2023, the prosecutor's office received 22 (21 in 2022) appeals from citizens and 16 (10) appeals from legal entities.

Citizens most often appealed regarding disagreements with being brought to administrative responsibility, and the imposition of an administrative arrest on property in execution of an administrative penalty in the form of a fine. In all cases, prosecutors conducted checks of the arguments set forth in the appeals and studied the materials of administrative offense cases.

Also, in 2023, compared to 2022, the number of considered appeals from legal entities increased from 9 to 15, of which 14 were satisfied.

In 2023, the Vitebsk transport prosecutor conducted personal receptions at Orsha station, the Vitebsk signaling and communications division of UP "Vitebsk Branch of Belarusian Railway", the "Vitebskvodtrans" branch of RUESP "Dnieper-Bug Waterway", and RUP "Vitebskavtodor".

During one of the receptions, applicants reported that the asphalt concrete pavement had been removed from one of the bridges in the city, and this section was not properly equipped with warning road signs, making vehicle movement unsafe in bad weather. The situation was studied and taken under control by the Vitebsk transport prosecutor, and the replacement of the upper layer of the asphalt concrete pavement was carried out in the shortest possible time.

The prosecutor's office also conducts checks on the compliance of supervised enterprises with the requirements of legislation on appeals from citizens and legal entities.

As a result of a check of retail outlets located in Orsha, isolated cases of improper consideration of citizens' appeals entered into complaint and suggestion books, and the adoption of illegal and unfounded decisions were revealed. Reports of expired products for sale, incorrect attitude of sellers, and violations of operating hours of facilities remained unaddressed by the store managers.

Based on the results of the inspection, a submission was made to the management of the retail chain, and the guilty parties were brought to justice.
