Visa-free travel to Belarus
Information on visa-free movement through the National Airport Minsk checkpoint
Effective July 27, 2018, Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus entered into force, according to which citizens of 74 states can enter and leave the Republic of Belarus visa-free for a period of up to 30 days through the State Border crossing point of the Republic of Belarus, National Airport Minsk.
The established visa-free movement procedure through the airport does not apply to persons arriving in Belarus by air from the Russian Federation, nor to those intending to depart to airports in Russia (these flights are domestic, border control is not carried out on them).
The visa-free stay period is calculated in full calendar days; the first day corresponds to the date of arrival, and the last day to the date of departure (regardless of the time of arrival and/or departure).
The visa-free regime does not apply to holders of diplomatic, service, special, and other equivalent passports.
Travel is for private, business, tourist, and other purposes not related to employment, commercial activities, or studies exceeding 30 days.
To enter the Republic of Belarus visa-free through the National Airport Minsk checkpoint, foreign citizens must have with them:
- a valid national passport, the validity of which must exceed the intended departure date from the Republic of Belarus by at least 90 days;
- funds: for each day of stay, an amount in foreign currency or Belarusian rubles equivalent to at least 2 basic units, or 50 basic units if the stay is for a full 30 days;
- a medical insurance policy for at least 10,000 euros, valid in Belarus for the entire period of stay.
For citizens of Vietnam, Haiti, Gambia, India, China, Lebanon, Namibia, Samoa, a mandatory additional requirement is a valid multiple-entry visa of the EU or Schengen Area states in their travel document with an entry stamp to their territory, as well as air tickets confirming departure from the National Airport "Minsk" within 30 days from the date of entry.
IMPORTANT:
For stays in Belarus exceeding 5 working days, foreign citizens are required to register with the citizenship and migration units of territorial internal affairs bodies. When staying in hotels, hostels, sanatoriums, and other collective accommodation facilities, foreign citizens are registered by the administrations of such institutions by default upon check-in.
The visa-free stay period cannot be extended beyond the established 30 days.
