On February 18, 2016, on M. Gorky Street in Vitebsk, two women were hit by a vehicle while stepping onto the roadway to board a tram. Both women sustained bodily injuries. The driver responsible for the accident fled the scene. Subsequently, through the investigative efforts of the traffic police department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Internal Affairs Directorate, the perpetrator was identified.
