The fastest babies: a family celebration was held at the regional maternity hospital

An entertainment program was prepared for the guests, and the culmination was an unusual "race" for those who had not yet learned to walk. The little ones competed with each other in speed and the ability not to get distracted!

– Our children are our future. The family is the foundation of stability and development for the state. Today, it is important for us to discuss safety issues not only with children but also with parents. This is an excellent start to the republican campaign "Safe Holidays," – noted Sergey Meleshkin, member of the Council of the Republic, head of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations department.

Rescuers from the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations presented a thematic stand where children and adults were told in a playful manner how to act in case of emergencies. Interactive platforms were also organized by the traffic police department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Internal Affairs Directorate, the regional branch of the Belarusian Party "Belaya Rus," the Belarusian Women's Union, VSU named after P. Masherov, and the Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine.

– Holding such events on the eve of Family Day is especially important. Children are the most valuable. My eldest son was born in this maternity hospital 16 years ago. Today, I would like to thank not only the wonderful mothers and fathers but also the doctors who do everything for the health of our children, – said Gleb Lapitsky, member of the Council of the Republic, General Director of the State Institution "Center of Culture 'Vitebsk'."

A lot of entertainment was prepared for the boys and girls: face painting, dancing with mascot costumes, and an opportunity to meet fluffy guests from the veterinary academy. But the main stars were the little ones! They captured everyone's attention by appearing at the "start" before the crawling race. Little Sasha Makeeva posed diligently for the audience. She confidently overtook her rivals, only, as it turned out later, she wasn't crawling towards the finish line... but towards the camera of our photojournalist. However, almost everyone who filmed the race managed to capture the baby's attention. It's clear that a future star is growing up in the family! Her mother, Irina, cheered Sasha on, actively attracting the girl's attention with a rattle. Sasha did a great job, and right after the finish line, she went for a snack to gain strength before the final.
