Sergey Levkovich: "The machine-building industry is a vivid example of cooperation between Belarus and Russia"

First Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Sergey Levkovich took part in a working meeting between Igor Dorofeychik, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus, and Roman Nekrasov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
During the negotiations, the possibility of supplying broiler parent stock and grandparent stock from the Russian Federation to Belarus is being discussed. Also on the agenda are issues of implementing joint projects in beef cattle breeding and sheep breeding (wool production and processing in Belarus).
The second part of the meeting will be devoted to the issue of implementing scientific topics in the field of animal husbandry of the EAEU.
We are sincerely interested in the development of joint projects. We are bound by strong economic and human ties.
Business projects with the participation of Russian capital are successfully implemented in the Vitebsk region, – noted Sergey Levkovich.
He added that the Vitebsk region can rightfully claim the status of a reliable partner for Russia.
– The machine-building industry is a vivid example of our cooperation, – said Sergey Levkovich. – Despite having our own tractor factory, we actively purchase Russian equipment.
Just last week, the delivery of a large batch of "Kirovets" tractors was completed.
The Russian market is absolutely a priority for us. Today, the Vitebsk region supplies a significant amount of its food products to Russia.
Thanks to the professionalism of our management, processing industry enterprises have established excellent contacts with Russian retail chains. In particular, products from the Verkhnedvinsk butter and cheese factory and the Postavy dairy plant, whose main focus is cheese production, are in high demand in Russia.
Our markets are already closely integrated today, however, we definitely have room to grow and develop. We expect that today's meeting will allow us to reach a common understanding of key issues. The main thing is that you form a clear impression: the Vitebsk region is fully ready for interaction, cooperation, and attracting Russian investments. Our region has serious potential, which we are ready to realize.
