Coordinate efforts
An interdepartmental meeting was held at the regional prosecutor's office to discuss current issues regarding the prevention of serious and particularly serious crimes in the region.
The speech by V.I. Guk, Deputy Regional Prosecutor, noted that executive and representative authorities, law enforcement agencies, and public associations pay constant attention to maintaining public order, preventing crimes against life and health of citizens, and improving the situation in dysfunctional families.
At the same time, last year the region registered an increase in serious and particularly serious crimes (by 8.5%). The issues of protecting the rights of children who have become victims of violent crimes against sexual integrity have become more acute. The problem of involving minors in lewd acts is relevant.
Drunkenness has a particularly negative impact on the crime rate. In some regions of the area, interaction between territorial internal affairs bodies and narcological services in conducting individual work is still not established.
The decrease in the activity of internal affairs bodies in referring individuals to therapeutic and preventive labor facilities and recognizing citizens as having limited legal capacity is noteworthy.
In several regions, "dens" where alcoholic beverages are systematically consumed and unlawful acts are committed are not detected in a timely manner.
The activities of social services and employment centers need improvement, as many crimes are directly related to the social dependency of certain citizens and their lack of engagement in socially useful labor.
Issues related to social adaptation, individual domestic and employment arrangements for persons released from places of deprivation of liberty remain relevant.
Overall, the discussion of these issues showed that efforts to prevent serious and particularly serious crimes require the activation of efforts by executive and representative authorities, law enforcement agencies, and other services.
Based on the results of the discussion, appropriate measures were adopted.
a decision aimed at improving activities in this area of work.
Representatives of law enforcement agencies, healthcare, education, and other services took part in the meeting and made statements.
