Hundreds of people gathered for a festive event on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the State Automobile Inspectorate at the Vitebsk Concert Hall. Among them were representatives of the regional and city authorities, heads of law enforcement agencies, enterprises and organizations, as well as veterans and traffic police officers.
Honored guests came to congratulate those who are on guard of order on the roads on their professional holiday: Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Rogozhnik, Assistant to the President - Inspector for the Vitebsk Region Vladimir Yurgevich, Head of the Regional Deputy Corps Dmitry Demidov, Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee Alexey Geroev.
– The State Automobile Inspectorate has gone through a significant stage in the modern history of Belarus. It is pleasant to look at the current equipment – it is no longer what it was in the 1990s, we started with VAZ-2101, and now we have Geely cars of Belarusian production. Many young people have joined the ranks of employees who are interested in this work. Human lives, someone's fathers, mothers, children, stand behind road safety. And this is very important, because there is nothing more valuable than human life. Your work commands great respect, as you have to work even on holidays. You remain at your workplaces so that the rest of the population feels comfortable and safe. Sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, I wish well-being to your families, so that warmth and comfort reign in them, — noted the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Rogozhnik.
The head of the northern region addressed words of gratitude to the veterans and current employees of the State Automobile Inspectorate of the region for their selfless service.
– For the State Automobile Inspectorate, 90 years is just a milestone that we have crossed. We continue to move forward, develop, and achieve certain results in ensuring road safety on the roads of the Vitebsk region, – emphasized the head of the Department of State Automobile Inspectorate of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Police Colonel Mikhail Dyadichkin. – We are celebrating the anniversary of the State Automobile Inspectorate. This is a holiday for employees, veterans, and, probably, all citizens, because every person is a road user.
Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee Alexey Geroev noted the coordinated close work of local authorities, the city executive committee with the State Automobile Inspectorate. Many road safety programs are being implemented, which are initiated by traffic police officers – professionals in their field, highly motivated people. It is thanks to the service of such people that the State Automobile Inspectorate has managed not only to preserve but also to multiply all the values and heritage formed back in Soviet times. Alexey Geroev dwelled separately on the preventive work of the departments.
– Today, in addition to its main activities, the State Automobile Inspectorate is engaged in educational activities among minors in studying traffic rules. Various press conferences, round tables, and meetings are held, including jointly with educational institutions. All this is done to ensure the safety of the residents of the city and the region, – said Alexey Geroev.
Gifts were also presented. The Chairman of the City Executive Committee presented Mikhail Dyadichkin with an icon depicting Saint Equal-to-the-Apostles Grand Duchess Olga, so that it would become a protector for the State Automobile Inspectorate employees, as well as for all road users in the city and the region.
Many awards were intended for veterans of the internal affairs bodies who dedicated their lives to service in the State Automobile Inspectorate.
– The department has developed significantly over the years of its existence. I joined the service on the 65th anniversary of its formation. Back then, we didn't have such resources; the department in the district had only a couple of vehicles, and foot patrols were organized. Today, it is gratifying to see how the ranks of the State Automobile Inspectorate are being replenished by young officers who immediately begin their service in new vehicles. All stages are streamlined: there is no need to worry separately about repairs or how to get out on duty, and this speaks volumes," shared Alexander Kapustin, a veteran of the internal affairs bodies, a retired police major, who retired from the position of head of the State Automobile Inspectorate department in Miory.
The ceremonial event concluded with a melodious festive concert, primarily prepared by the amateur art groups of the region's State Automobile Inspectorate employees.
