Railway, water, and air transport have always played a significant role in the economic development of the state, as the Republic of Belarus, being in the geographical center of Europe, is a crucial transport hub connecting transit routes for goods from the European Union countries to the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, and other countries of the Eurasian continent.

The Vitebsk Transport Prosecutor's Office provides prosecutorial supervision at railway, water, air, and pipeline transport facilities in the Vitebsk region, construction organizations, and the Vitebsk customs. The length of the prosecutor's office service area is over 826 kilometers and covers 14 districts of the Vitebsk region. The service area of the prosecutor's office includes 46 transport enterprises and organizations, 58 railway stations, and stopping points. The region supervised by the prosecutor's office houses almost all the infrastructure of enterprises ensuring the uninterrupted operation of railway transport, including track, power supply, carriage, and locomotive depots.

Today, the stable and effective functioning of the region's transport system depends on the coordinated work of the transport prosecutor's office staff, their professionalism, and adherence to principles. The focus of the main areas of supervisory activity on the prevention of crimes and offenses at transport facilities, and the strict enforcement of legislation aimed at ensuring the safety of railway, air, and river transport operations, has led to positive dynamics in reducing crime rates, a significant decrease in injuries and fatalities of citizens on the railway, and a substantial improvement in labor discipline.
