Employees of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office took part in a seminar-meeting of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus for the Vitebsk Region

A seminar-meeting on ensuring legality during the conscription of citizens for active military service was organized and held at the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus for the Vitebsk region.

The seminar was attended by heads of departments of the regional prosecutor's office Georgy Grinkevich, Roman Chudakov and Viktor Kolbun, as well as representatives of the Central Apparatus of the Investigative Committee, the General Staff of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, employees of the Investigative Committee, the Department of Internal Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, and the military commissariat.

During the meeting, issues of interaction between military commissariats and criminal prosecution bodies when dealing with citizens evading military service, problems of legal regulation in the consideration and decision-making by inquiry bodies on reports of crimes against the order of military service were discussed.

The main errors made at the stages of considering reports and investigating criminal cases of crimes against the order of military service, which led to the termination of criminal proceedings, were considered separately.

Prosecution officers emphasized the shortcomings made by inquiry body employees during inspections of crimes against the order of military service.

Based on the results of the discussion, an appropriate decision was made aimed at improving the quality of inspections by bodies and the investigation of criminal cases in this category.
