Information on the Operation of Physical Culture and Sports Facilities in the Winter Season 2025/2026

Currently, 21 sports clubs and physical culture and recreation centers operate on a budgetary basis in the region to organize physical culture and recreation and sports and mass events. According to the results of 2025, 6527 people are engaged in 522 groups, including 2557 children and adolescents.

3802 physical culture and sports facilities operate for the organization of physical culture and recreation and sports and mass events:

7 stadiums;

604 sports halls;

840 adapted premises;

302 sports grounds;

1 sailing base;

5 rowing bases and rowing canals;

108 ski bases;

60 shooting ranges;

1420 flat sports facilities;

123 swimming pools (including 24 standard ones);

and other sports facilities.

The main physical culture and sports bases of the region include:

rowing base in Polotsk,

ski-roller track in Gorodok,

physical culture and recreation complex "Olimpiec" in Orsha,

sports complex of FC "Vitebsk" in Vitebsk,

specialized trampoline center in Vitebsk,

Ice Palace of SU "Vitebsk Hockey Club" in Vitebsk,

Ice Palace of the "Khimik" Hockey Club SU in Novopolotsk,

Ice Arena in Orsha,

50-meter swimming pool in Novopolotsk.

The material and technical base of physical culture and sports is improved annually.

Work has been completed on the "Reconstruction of the shooting gallery of the shooting range building, provided for use by the specialized educational and sports institution "Vitebsk State Children and Youth Sports School No. 3".

The construction of a sports and recreation complex in Braslav with planned completion in 2026 and a multifunctional sports complex at the intersection of
General Ivanovsky Street and Bagration Street in Vitebsk has begun;

Cooperation with the Presidential Sports Club is carried out on a permanent basis for the implementation of the republican social project to support sports and a healthy lifestyle "Sport for All", within the framework of which a multifunctional sports ground has been built on the basis of the educational institution "Secondary School No. 9 of Vitebsk named after M.F. Biryulin".

In addition to the above, the following were commissioned in 2025:

- 3 multidisciplinary sports grounds in Novopolotsk;

- stadium and roller skate park in Postavy after modernization;

- mini-football and gorodki sports ground in Gorodok;

- complex of street simulators in Tolochin;

- workout ground in Miory.

In accordance with the State Program "Physical Culture and Sports" for 2021-2025, based on the results of work in 2025, 293,423 people were involved in physical culture and sports, which is 27.36% of the total population.

According to the calendar of sports and mass events and tourist events, in 2025, city and district departments (sectors) of sports and tourism held 3,289 sports and mass events and tourist events, in which 176,647 people took part. Of these, 1,612 events were held for children and adolescents, in which 99,342 people took part.

Annually, all regions of the oblast are given planned targets for the preparation of sports facilities for the winter recreation season.

Work is underway to implement the State Physical Culture and Recreation Complex of the Republic of Belarus.

By the end of 2025, 9012 people participated in the GFCK standards tests in the Vitebsk region, and 165 events were held.

Of these, 68 events were held in work collectives, with 2834 people participating.

2049 badges were awarded to participants, which is 136.6% of the assigned plan.

To organize physical culture and sports activities for people with disabilities, 43 groups of physical culture and health-oriented and adaptive physical orientation are operating on the basis of physical culture and sports clubs and health and sports centers, with 378 people with disabilities engaged.

In the past year, 5 groups for people with disabilities were created.
