Joint meeting of the presidium of the regional executive committee and the regional Council of Deputies: budget revenues from business have increased by almost a quarter

Revenues to the budget of the Vitebsk region from small and medium-sized businesses have increased by almost a quarter, reported the Chairperson of the Committee of Economy of the Regional Executive Committee, Anzhelika Nikitina, during a joint meeting of the presidium of the Regional Executive Committee and the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies.

There are 31.2 thousand small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the Vitebsk region. 143.3 thousand people are employed in this sector of the economy, or 30% of the total number of employed. "This year, a positive trend in revenues from small and medium-sized businesses to the budget is observed. For 10 months, Br375.6 million has been received by the budget from entrepreneurship. Revenues have increased by almost a quarter compared to the same period in 2018. This sector of the economy is working effectively today," noted Anzhelika Nikitina.

Industrial organizations of the northern region account for 15.4% of the total republican production volume. For 10 months, growth in the output of transport vehicles and equipment, pharmaceutical products and preparations, and computer, electronic, and optical equipment has been ensured. More than Br720 million in investments in fixed capital has been directed to industry. This is 41.6% of the funds invested in the region's economy.

In January-October, the gross regional product of the Vitebsk region amounted to Br8154.4 million.
