The range of penalties for the secret misappropriation of property is wide
The desire for quick enrichment drives citizens to commit this crime. As a rule, offenders in this category of cases are individuals who are unemployed, lead an antisocial lifestyle, and abuse alcohol.
Unfortunately, such people treat the values of human labor and other people's property with disdain, believing that if something is lying around, it is a gift of fate. But the greatest disappointment for such individuals is not public condemnation and moral norms, but the criminal liability provided for the commission of property theft.
Criminal liability under Art. 205 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus arises when clandestine misappropriation of property from an individual in the amount of more than 2 basic units (which is 200,000 Belarusian rubles) and more than 10 basic units (1,000,000 Belarusian rubles) from a legal entity is committed.
The range of punishments for clandestine misappropriation of property, depending on the severity of the committed crime, is quite wide, from community service to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Examples of theft are diverse, and sometimes one is surprised at how thoughtless the criminals turned out to be, and as a result, the inevitability of criminal liability and punishment.
Thus, Stepan, born in 1979, a native of Vitebsk (name changed by the author), who was not employed anywhere, while in a state of alcoholic intoxication, intending to intentionally unlawfully seize property by theft, after drinking alcohol with his friend Ruslan, took advantage of the fact that Ruslan was asleep and not monitoring the safety of his property, secretly stole a motor scythe from him, and then fled the scene of the crime, disposing of the stolen property as he saw fit. He fully admitted his guilt and
regretted his actions. By the verdict of the Zheleznodorozhny District Court of Vitebsk, Stepan was sentenced to 3 months of arrest, and in accordance with Art. 107 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, coercive measures of security and treatment were also applied to him.Assistant
