Students and working youth of the Vitebsk region took part in the patriotic project 'Route of Memory'
On April 15, the hero city of Brest welcomed a delegation of activists from the Belarusian Republican Youth Union, participants of the regional patriotic project "Route of Memory". The journey from Vitebsk to Brest has come to an end, but the echo of this significant project continues to resonate, reminding us of the importance of preserving historical memory and intergenerational dialogue.
As the "Route of Memory" train confidently sped from Vitebsk to Brest, students and working youth from the BRSM of the Vitebsk region presented their business cards with a military theme as part of the "Our Grandfathers Fought" competition. Poems, touching songs, poignant stories from family archives were heard, and miniature theatrical performances unfolded.
The day in Brest for the delegation began with a productive dialogue platform, where BRSM activists met with local youth. The key event of this meeting was the regional educational and patriotic campaign "Victory Dictation". The project participants tested their knowledge of the Great Patriotic War history together.
One of the most touching and significant moments was the laying of flowers at the Eternal Flame near the "Courage" monument in the "Brest Fortress-Hero" memorial complex. The participants of the "Route of Memory" bowed their heads in sign of boundless gratitude to the defenders of the fortress, who were the first to bear the brunt of the war.
- The warm parcels collected by the activists will soon be delivered to their recipients – veterans of the Great Patriotic War. These tokens of attention are symbols of deep gratitude to those who gave us life and a peaceful sky above our heads, - noted Denis Kroshchenko, Second Secretary of the Vitebsk Regional Committee of the BRSM.
