The Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's labor landing party landed in the Losvid forestry of the Vitebsk forestry enterprise
Here, as part of the "Give the Forest New Life!" campaign, a mixed forest will be planted on an area of 0.9 hectares. More than 4.5 thousand seedlings of oak, birch, and spruce.
- Today, a large-scale clean-up day is taking place in our region, as well as throughout the country. More than 200 thousand people have come out to clean up territories, improve courtyards, plant forests, and lay tiles – everyone is contributing to the common cause. It is important that we are doing this for ourselves, improving and tidying up our land. Such events unite teams, allowing people to communicate and work together, - noted Alexander Subbotin. - The theme of tidying up and improvement has taken on special significance this year. It has become a good tradition for Belarusians to care for their land not only on clean-up days but also on ordinary days.
The head of the region also noted that the tradition of clean-up days has a long history, and the feelings from participating in them are always positive.
- Despite the lack of sun, there is a feeling of joy and inspiration from the fact that we are together in the forest, doing a good deed. We also visited a nursery where we learned about the process of forest cultivation. We are now actively planting a new species – oak. The climate is changing, and the forest structure is also changing; we are becoming more like the Polissya ecosystem. But the most important thing is that the forest is being revived even in those areas where there were diseases, windfalls, or logging. Our children and grandchildren will benefit from these fruits, - said Alexander Subbotin. - The forestry industry in our region is at a high level – from growing trees from seeds or acorns to their processing. All facilities are operating efficiently.
