A labor brigade led by the chairman of the regional executive committee, Alexander Rogozhnik, is working on the territory of the dairy complex under construction by the production cooperative "Olgovskoye" in the Vitebsk region.

The first task undertaken was pouring the foundation for a future calf nursery for 200 heads up to 3 months old. Simultaneously, other groups, totaling over 100 people involved, began landscaping the territory, painting structures, and installing fences.

The deputy chairman of the regional executive committee, Petr Belus, noted that the dairy complex, being built entirely from scratch, will be equipped with the latest technology.

– The complex being built today will be high-tech, with a modern milk kitchen. Milk taxis, metered feeding, and so on – all regulatory work will be observed. By July 1, it will be ready to receive its first residents, – emphasized Petr Belus. – In accordance with the instructions given by the head of state regarding the preservation of calf populations, the region as a whole has set quite ambitious plans – to build 169 nurseries by July 1. These facilities are being built at the expense of the regional budget.

Work on the construction and landscaping of the nurseries is planned to be carried out collectively, involving representatives of city, district organizations, and agricultural enterprises, as well as regional residents to assist during subbotniks (volunteer workdays).

The dairy complex is designed to accommodate over 760 milking cows. As reported by the chairman of PC "Olgovskoye," Nikolay Leoshko, the readiness is currently around 80-85 percent. The main work on the three buildings (milking parlor and two barns) is approximately 95 percent complete, while work on the silage trench and landscaping is ongoing.

Simultaneously, the construction of two more buildings is beginning: a calf nursery for 200 heads and a dry cow and milking parlor building to create a full-cycle dairy complex.

About 50 people work at the site daily.

Further plans include the demolition of two old barns, which will be replaced by an additional calf building.

– The fact that so many people responded to the subbotnik and joined the construction and improvement of the facility is a great help to our organization. Help is always good, because the more people we have, the faster and more we can do. We are eagerly awaiting the opening of this MTC. My parents always participated in subbotniks, and I was introduced to labor. It's a very good tradition, – shared Ivan Svirshchev, a repair and construction foreman at PK "Olgovskoye".

The new dairy complex in "Olgovskoye" is part of a comprehensive program for the development of the dairy industry in the Vitebsk region. The goal and significance are strategic: along with strengthening food security, the calculation is for a good economic effect, as a significant part of the industry's products will be exported.

Residents of all settlements in the northern region joined the work for the republican subbotnik. The funds earned will be directed to the creation of a permanent exhibition of the National Historical Museum of Belarus under construction and other related work.
