Prime Minister of Belarus Alexander Turchin is on an official visit to Kyrgyzstan. Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Anzhelika Nikitina is participating in the meetings as part of the official delegation. They are discussing the development of mutual trade, cooperation, and humanitarian ties. Vitebsk and Issyk-Kul regions have signed an Agreement on Cooperation in the trade, economic, scientific, technical, cultural, and humanitarian spheres. The document will strengthen friendly ties between the regions and promote mutually beneficial projects.

– Vitebsk region is developing trade and economic relations with the Kyrgyz Republic. We supply cable products for the construction and energy sectors, veterinary and medical preparations, and food products. Undoubtedly, we will expand this range, including in cooperation with the Issyk-Kul region. Both regions are called lake pearls. Lake Issyk-Kul is currently a landmark of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Vitebsk region has over 2,000 lakes and huge tourism potential, with more than 100 health resorts and sanatoriums. We have work to do not only in terms of exchanging tourist groups but also in improving the mechanisms for providing tourist services, – Anzhelika Nikitina noted.

She noted that Kyrgyzstan positions itself more as a country for winter tourism. Meanwhile, the northern region of Belarus focuses on summer tourism. The parties plan to exchange experience in terms of the operation of the sanatorium and health resort base, and the use of therapeutic muds and mineral waters.

As an educational region whose higher education institutions train personnel for virtually all sectors (from medicine to industry), the Vitebsk region is ready to offer its capabilities. Cooperation is considered not only in personnel training but also in mutual visits of students and teachers for the exchange of experience.

The regions are seriously determined to work more actively in terms of cultural exchanges, supporting each other's projects with their participation. This interaction is established today: Kyrgyzstan is annually represented at the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" International Arts Festival. In addition to this major forum, large-scale events such as Viva Braslav, "Dnipro Voices in Dubrovno," the traditional culture festival "Braslav Zarnitsy," and others are held in the region, where Kyrgyz guests are always welcome.
