Land Management Department: under the updated legislation, with the application of reducing coefficients to the cadastral value in the Vitebsk region, 50 land plots have been acquired by citizens into private ownership.

With the entry into force of the new version of the Land Code of the Republic of Belarus and in accordance with paragraph 1 of Article 3 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus of July 18, 2022 No. 195-Z "On Amendments to Codes", land plots held by land users on the date of entry into force of this Article, if land users apply to the local executive committee within 5 years from the date of entry into force of this Article for their acquisition into private ownership or for lease with payment for the right of lease for 99 years, shall be acquired (granted) at a value determined in accordance with the second part of Article 31 and the first part of Article 311 of the Land Code of the Republic of Belarus of July 23, 2008 – until January 1, 2023, and in accordance with paragraph 4 of Article 36 and paragraph 1 of Article 37 of the Land Code of the Republic of Belarus (as amended by this Law) – from January 1, 2023, with the application of a coefficient: 0.8 – in the territory of Vitebsk; 0.5 – in other territories.

As of March 16, 2023, with the application of reducing coefficients to the cadastral value for the Vitebsk region, 50 land plots with a total area of 6.1738 hectares have been acquired into private ownership by citizens for the amount of 101622.60 rubles, including 5 land plots with an area of 0.4097 hectares in the city of Vitebsk for the amount of 58769.87 rubles. Land plots into private ownership with the application of a reducing coefficient of 0.5 were acquired in Beshenkovichi (4), Braslav (9), Vitebsk (15), Gorodok (2), Lepel (3), and Polotsk (12) districts.

In the region, since the entry into force of the new legislation on the protection and use of lands, 466 applications from individuals and 314 applications from legal entities for the provision of land plots have been received by local executive committees.
