Housing and Communal Services Department: all boiler houses in the Vitebsk region have received readiness certificates

In the Vitebsk region, the preparation of the housing stock and heat sources for the current heating season has been practically completed. All boiler houses in the northern region have received readiness certificates, and work continues on some housing stock facilities, as reported by the Department of Housing and Communal Services of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

Specialists and responsible services are preparing enterprises for the heating season according to schedule. "Today, equipment and heat networks have been tested at heat supply facilities, preventive maintenance of boiler house and central heating unit equipment has been carried out, the internal surfaces of 487 boilers and 133 water heaters have been cleaned, 12 steel boilers have undergone major repairs, 7 uneconomical boilers have been replaced, and other preventive measures have been taken. As of September 14, the plan for replacing heat networks was completed by more than 99% of the annual target," the department clarified.

All 499 boiler houses in the region and 23 out of 24 heat energy consumers have already received readiness certificates. Specialists have carried out preventive maintenance on all water supply facilities, repaired artesian wells, water dispensing columns, fire hydrants, and pumps. More than 63.5 km of dilapidated water supply networks have been relaid, which is 87% of their total length. Preparation of the housing stock is being completed. "Preventive maintenance and pressure testing have been carried out in 6504 residential buildings and 5603 heating units, which is 99% of the plan," the department added. "Chimney and ventilation ducts in residential buildings are being inspected and repaired by organizations that operate the housing stock and provide housing and communal services."

Housing and communal services organizations in the Vitebsk region have created a stock of wood fuel – firewood and chips – exceeding 392 thousand cubic meters (130.9% of the plan). Boiler houses and mini-CHP plants using local types of fuel have been equipped with platforms and canopies for drying and storing solid fuel.

The region's enterprises are equipped with snow removal and road maintenance equipment for winter, and have a supply of de-icing materials. To eliminate emergency situations at heat supply sources and heating networks in the region, there are two mobile boiler houses. The preparation of the housing stock and heat sources for the heating season is almost complete, the department concluded.
