Working conditions of farmers, crop yields, and sales profitability are on the agenda of Natalia Kochanova in the Vitebsk region
OAO "Kushliki" is one of the leading agricultural enterprises in the Polotsk district. The farm specializes in growing potatoes, cereals, legumes, vegetables, and in the production of beef and milk. In cooperation with scientists from the Grodno Zonal Institute of Crop Production of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the agricultural enterprise tests various potato varieties. They cultivate it on an area of 200 hectares.
Combine operators of agricultural enterprises in the Polotsk district are harvesting several crops simultaneously – barley, rapeseed, and food rye. Despite the weather conditions, about 30 combines work in the fields every day. Indifferent people also come to the aid of the grain growers. For example, representatives of the Novopolotsk Emergency Situations Department are working at the farm.
- Now the whole country is living through the harvesting campaign, because we understand that every day, every hour is very precious. People are creating the food security of our country with their labor. There has never been such a rainy year before.
Everything is very decent at this agricultural enterprise. There is work, the harvest, in my opinion, is wonderful. What we see now is pleasing. The work is organized, there is equipment, there are enough people. They come from other enterprises to help and work.
The attitude towards people here is very good. All conditions have been created. A number of regulatory legal acts have now been adopted, signed by the president of our country, which allow for solving issues in small settlements with a population of 20 thousand or less. Housing needs to be built here, on the ground, especially since there is someone to build it for, - emphasized the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, Natalya Kochanova.
