An interregional seminar on problematic issues of protecting the rights and legitimate interests of children and law enforcement practice was held in Grodno on October 29-30, 2015.

The seminar was attended by D.I. Lebedeva, Head of the Department of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Belarus, V.N. Morozov, Prosecutor of the Grodno Region, representatives of the Scientific and Practical Center for Problems of Strengthening Legality and Law and Order of the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministries of Education and Health, prosecutors of the Grodno Region Prosecutor's Offices carrying out this supervision, as well as senior assistants and heads of departments for supervision of the prosecutor's offices of Minsk, Minsk, Grodno, Brest, Vitebsk, Mogilev, and Gomel regions.

A number of topics were discussed on the prevention of family distress, the prevention of juvenile delinquency, and drug addiction among youth.

A.V. Volkov, Senior Assistant Prosecutor of the Vitebsk Region, addressed colleagues and related specialists on topical issues of supervisory activities for the prevention of child deaths and injuries, highlighted the successful results of the inspection of the prosecutor's offices of the Vitebsk Region, and made a number of proposals for improving this preventive work.

In addition, the Grodno side organized events for the seminar participants to highlight the joint activities of the regional prosecutor's office and the Grodno regional organization of the Belarusian Red Cross Society on the rehabilitation of children with disabilities.

Cultural events, excursions to the historical center of Grodno, Catholic and Orthodox churches, museums and other attractions were also held.

During the seminar, an actual exchange of experience in supervisory activities took place between the prosecutor's offices of the regions, the Prosecutor General's Office, and counterparts from ministries.
