A meeting of the Collegium of the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus is being held in Minsk
The meeting of the Collegium of the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus is discussing the results of the industry's work in 2025 and the main tasks for the current year.
The event is attended by Marina Novitskaya, Head of the Main Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Regional Executive Committee, representatives of media and printing enterprises of the Vitebsk region.
Marina Novitskaya, Head of the Main Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Regional Executive Committee:
– Today, special attention is paid to regional media. Readers and viewers are always interested in the local agenda, what is happening nearby – in their city, town, agro-town. Therefore, one of the tasks of journalists in the regions is to promptly respond to everything that is happening and raise issues that concern the population, and talk about ways to solve them. The level of public trust in local media speaks of their professionalism.
Marat Markov, Minister of Information of the Republic of Belarus:
– The tasks for Belarusian media remain quite specific. The main thing is trust in them; its level has been growing over the past five years. This is the most important criterion for evaluating the work of journalists. We strive for you to become the main source of information for our viewers and users. If you achieve this, it means you have fulfilled your main function.
Another task is to produce a quality product; you have no right to make mistakes that sometimes become a negative marker of your work.
Today you are on the information front, – the minister noted, addressing the journalists. – You see what is happening around us, you see these monstrous events that lead to the deaths of thousands of people every day. Fight on your information front in such a way that a hot war never arises on our territory.
