Vitebsk region will allocate money earned at the subbotnik for the renovation of memorials

"It is expected that more than 350 thousand people will take part in the subbotnik, and it is planned to earn over Br800 thousand. Half of these funds, which remain at the disposal of the region, will be directed to the Rylionki memorial complex in the Dubrovensky district and the Proryv memorial complex in the Ushachsky district," Vladimir Penin said.

In each city and district, places have been identified where the labor contingent will be deployed on Saturday. Labor collectives will tidy up the territories adjacent to enterprises and organizations, and residents of the region will improve memorial sites, parks and squares, children's health camps, and museum complexes.

In particular, in Vitebsk, the main work will unfold in the Park of the 70th Anniversary of Victory, on the territory of the burial site of the "5th Regiment" concentration camp prisoners, and the Park of the Soviet Army.

Residents of Polotsk will work on facilities being renovated for Belarusian Written Language Day. In addition, the district leadership decided to tidy up, improve, and in some places restore playgrounds in all settlements during the labor action. In the Orsha district, large-scale work will be carried out to improve the branch of the Yanka Kupala Literary Museum in Levki.

Throughout the region, it is planned to work on roads – about 1.3 thousand people and about 70 units of equipment will be sent to assist road workers. Road shoulders will be tidied up, work on cutting bushes and trimming trees, and pothole repair will be organized.

The Rylionki memorial complex was erected in 1973 at the Rylionki fraternal cemetery in the Dubrovensky district. This is the burial place of 10 thousand Soviet soldiers of the 11th Guards and 31st armies who died in fierce battles in the area from October 1943 to June 1944.
