In the Postavy district, the manager was stealing from her own store

Not everyone can resist temptation, especially when it comes to money. Financial temptation and a dangerous sense of impunity resulted in criminal prosecution for the former head of a retail outlet in the Postavy district.

The 30-year-old woman came up with a tempting idea: to appropriate the funds and material assets entrusted to her by the organization as an official. Having free access to cash and food products, she systematically pocketed them. Her needs grew until the total amount of stolen goods reached almost 60 million rubles. Such "intense" work could not go unnoticed. Therefore, on the eve of the audit, the accused deposited funds into the store's cash register to account for goods taken without payment. During the inventory, a shortage was recorded in the store, and manipulations with the cash register were revealed.

— At the court hearing, the accused admitted her guilt and sincerely repented. The mitigating circumstance was the full compensation of the damage caused before the end of the investigation, — noted Mikhail Sashcheko, Deputy Vitebsk Transport Prosecutor.

The verdict of Themis, in accordance with Part 3 of Article 210 of the Criminal Code, is deprivation of liberty for 3 years with confiscation of property and disqualification from holding materially responsible positions for 2 years. However, the court gave her a chance for correction by applying a suspended sentence. Currently, the woman is under the close supervision of the internal affairs department at her place of residence, and her future depends solely on her behavior. In case of further illegal actions within 2 years, she will fully experience the consequences of her misconduct.
