Representatives of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus and the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Department of Internal Affairs participated in the meeting. The analysis results showed that, overall, there is a positive trend in the region in the search for persons who have committed crimes, and these issues are under constant control of the criminal investigation department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Department of Internal Affairs.
At the same time, in all regions of the oblast, constructive interaction between preliminary investigation bodies and internal affairs bodies is not always ensured in the investigation and disclosure of crimes, and a measure of restraint in the form of detention is not always timely chosen for absconded accused persons, nor is their whereabouts always timely established.
Following the meeting, a clear algorithm for interaction between internal affairs bodies, the Investigative Committee, and the prosecutor's office was developed to minimize existing shortcomings and increase the effectiveness of work in this area.
