A training and methodological seminar on combating corruption was held at the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office
The Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office organized and held a training forum for the region's prosecutors via video conferencing.
The seminar's topic was "Practical Aspects of Supervising the Enforcement of Legislation on Combating Corruption and Procurement of Goods (Works, Services). Issues of Improving the Quality of Prosecutor's Supervision Acts."
"Supervision in the sphere of combating corruption is one of the priority areas in the work of the supervisory authority of Vitebsk region. The prosecutor's office is the main coordinator of this work. The training sessions held allow our employees to study in detail the multifaceted nature of supervision, analyze and eliminate existing shortcomings, and thus improve and hone their professional skills in this area," said Igor Korzhov, First Deputy Prosecutor of Vitebsk Region, in his welcoming address to the seminar participants. - "Showing exceptional principledness and balance, we must aim for every prosecutor's supervision act to contribute to the real eradication of corruption and corrupt practices in the regions," Igor Korzhov summarized.
During the seminar, the following issues were discussed:
- the coordination meeting on combating crime and corruption in the region as an effective tool, its potential and effectiveness;
- the organization and conduct of inspections of the enforcement of anti-corruption legislation regarding the identification of violations in the declaration of income and property;
- the implementation of supervisory measures for the compliance of public officials with anti-corruption restrictions;
- the methodology for conducting sectoral inspections, typical violations committed by inspected entities;
- the specifics of covering the results of the supervisory authority's work in the field of combating corruption in the media.
Based on the results of the discussion platform, the seminar participants exchanged views, shared practical experience, and made a number of proposals for conducting inspection activities and documenting their results, which will subsequently allow
to improve the implementation of prosecutorial supervision in this area.
